Mehmet Gürs

Mehmet Gürs is a world acclaimed chef with Finnish-Turkish roots. Born in Finland, grown up in Sweden, trained in the United States he now is based in Istanbul, Turkey. He is behind one of the World’s best Restaurants, Mikla, as well as several comfort food establishments and a Nordic Style Coffee roastery. He has brought attention to the New Anatolian kitchen through years of research all around Turkey. Gürs is also one of the founders of the YEDI food symposium in Istanbul.

“I believe that food can knock down walls and bring people together.” His Finnish roots are important to him and this is the first time he acts as a creative executive chef at a restaurant in Finland. He will bring the Anatolian passion for sharing food like meze and introduce healthy Mediterranean ingredients to Nordic kitchen.
